In an effort to encourage Cooperate Social Responsibility practices that supports the youths and startups Ecosystem in Borno State, Co-Development Hub hosted a one-day Multi stakeholder dialogue on Cooperate Social Responsibility for supporting Youths and Startups. In attendance were stakeholders from private sector, the government and the youths and startups. Speaking at the event, Director of Youths from the Borno State Ministry of Youths says “This is an important event for the government and we shall engage the ministry of commerce and other relevant agencies to hold a townhall meeting with all the key players of the private sector in Borno state to discuss around leveraging CSR to respond to some of the issues we are facing in the state”.
The program has also seen participation from youth representatives. A tech specialist from ZOA International Engr. Albashir Ishaq Ibrahim who was on a panel session called on private sector leaders to support young people in building businesses and startups and also encourages the young entrepreneurs in attendance to build relevant skills needed to develop their businesses, saying “A lot of young people today jump into businesses without actual knowledge and experience of that field. Young people who seek to build the skills and knowledge required to run their startups”
The project lead Halima Bawah said “The main aim of this project is to create a synergy between entrepreneurs, business owners and startups with the objective of raising awareness on integrating Cooperate Social Responsibilities (CSR) into their activities”
