In an exciting leap into the future of technology and innovation, Co-Development Hub recently concluded a 2-day immersive workshop themed “Build with AI”, powered by Google and Google Developers Group (GDG) Maiduguri. The training brought together 50 dynamic participants—including innovators, developers, creatives, and tech enthusiasts—on a transformative learning journey into the world of Gemini AI, prompt engineering, and Google developer tools.
The workshop kicked off with an inspiring welcome address from Muhammad Bukar Umara, the Chief Executive Officer of Co-Development Hub. In his remarks, he challenged the participants to fully engage with the experience, highlighting that “AI is no longer a futuristic concept—it is a core skill for today’s global workforce. This training is your gateway to the future of work, innovation, and creativity.”
Following the opening session, expert trainers from GDG Maiduguri took participants through practical, hands-on modules. Topics ranged from effective prompt writing for AI models, to developing tools using Gemini, and integrating Google’s suite of AI-powered products in building scalable solutions for real-world problems.
Participants expressed high levels of enthusiasm and satisfaction with the experience. One participant, Fatima Yusuf, a software developer, shared: “This was the most engaging AI training I’ve ever attended. I came with curiosity, and I’m leaving with clarity and new skills I can apply immediately.”
Another participant, Usman Aliyu, a university student and aspiring product manager, noted: “Gemini’s capabilities blew my mind. I didn’t realize how quickly you could go from idea to prototype with the right prompts.”
Trainers also had glowing feedback about the cohort. Adewumi Ahmed, one of the lead facilitators, said: “The energy and curiosity from these young minds were incredible. You can tell these are the future builders of Africa’s digital economy.”
Throughout the two days, the atmosphere was vibrant—with participants sharing ideas, asking insightful questions, and even beginning mini-collaborations. It was a perfect blend of learning, experimentation, and community.
